Abstract

Digital transformation requires organizations to modify technologies, processes, structures, employee roles, and managerial practices. These changes can create resistance when employees perceive uncertainty or lack of involvement. This conceptual paper examines strategic change management in organizations undergoing digital transformation. Drawing on established change-management perspectives, the paper argues that successful transformation requires leadership commitment, communication, employee participation, capability development, and reinforcement mechanisms. The paper proposes a model connecting leadership communication and employee participation with change readiness and implementation outcomes. Resistance is considered not simply as an obstacle but also as a source of information about organizational concerns. The paper concludes that change management should be integrated into digital strategy from the beginning rather than introduced after technological decisions have already been made.
